Organized by CIGR? National Committee of South Africa in cooperation with CIGR? Technical committee as well as IEC Technical Committees and AFSEC Technical Committees, CIGRE & IEC 2015 Development of Electricity Infrastructures in Sub-Saharan Africa International Symposium have been held in Cape Town of South Africa from October 26th-30th, 2015. This is the first time the IEC and CIGRE joint international symposium in Africa, this conference aims to promote the construction of African power infrastructure, accelerate the development of African economy. More than 400 experts from power grid companies, power companies, scientific research institutions, and universities from more than 30 countries and regions were invited to attend the meeting.
As the general manager of state grid corporation of China and vice president of IEC, Dr. Shu Yinbiao attended the conference and presented an excellent keynote speech. On the exhibition, SIFANG’s digital substation, power grid stability and integrated management solutions aroused visitors’ great interest and technical experts gave detailed explanation for visitors’ concerned questions. SIFANG expert also presented the thesis and made technical communication with international experts in focus group discussions of substation protection and automation.
This symposium created a high-quality technical exchange platform for the power industry experts, academics and researchers, which played a good role in promoting direct understandings of the international industry's latest technological developments, expressing technical point of view, and enhancing the technological innovation. Meanwhile, it also played positive role for SIFANG’s international brand promotion and marketing development in Africa.
