Hosted by Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Power & Energy Society, organized by IEEE PES Thailand Section International Conference on Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Asia 2015 has been held in Bangkok from November 3rd-6th, 2015. More than 500 experts from Power Utilities of Thailand, power plant companies, scientific research institutions, and universities from more than 20 countries and regions were invited to attend the meeting.
SIFANG has been invited by IEEE PES Thailand Section to present the topics regarding IEC61850 and Smart Grid. SIFANG expert team is led by Senior Engineer, IET Fellow Dr. Ren Yanming. In the morning on November 5th, Dr. Ren presented a keynote report with the title of “The Important Role of IEC61850 in Substation Automation”, sharing the experiences and SIFANG’s contribution in the field of the IEC61850 application and future development with the attending guests. Then, Mr. Wang Kaibin presented the other topic with the title of “Micro-grid Application in China and Development in Thailand”, he shared the experiences of SIFANG’s achievement and also explained the significant of Micro-grid development in Thailand. The attended audiences fulfill the tutorial room, the senior engineers of three power utilities EGAT, PEA and MEA, the IPP of Thailand and experts from International countries. At the Q & A parts, Dr. Ren and Mr. Wanggave detailed explanation for visitors’ concerned questions.
This meeting created a high-quality technical exchange platform for the power industry experts, academics and researchers, which played an important role in promoting direct understandings of the international industry's latest technological developments, expressing technical point of view, and enhancing the technological innovation.
